Super Week!

It's been an action packed week so far here as we hit the mid summer point.

Wednesday saw our friend Craig and myself take down a 75 foot pine tree on our new piece of land. It was an epic adventure that had Shannon scared out of her mind and Z watching with amazement. After four hours of toiling with the chainsaw and axe, we finally managed to take her down.

Thursday was all about Shannon painting a mural for our friends the Essylstyns. While mommy was painting, Cindy, Z, Hattie and myself went to the Western North Carolina Nature Center. It's a small zoo that contains all sorts of local critters from small deadly Black Widow spiders to enormous black bears. We checked out the petting zoo and the butterfly exhibit while we were there, too.

Today has us attending one of Asheville's best community events, Downtown at Five. A section of downtown is closed off to traffic and set up with a large stage for live music. Local vendors sell food and drinks and a tasty selection of Asheville beer as well. We should be rocking tonight.

As for Z, she is continuing to grow right before our eyes. She has had great progress with sleep. She is also diplaying much better hand eye coordination. Her temperment continues to be all smiles for about 90% of the day. Z is also showing that she might be making the move towards crawling. She is showing the confidence to thrust her body forward from a sitting position and make it to the ground. I swear she has gained a pound because she is heavier. She is eating well, too.

The rest of the weekend looks busy as I am trying to push for a camping adventure (probably not going to happen but I have to dream, right?) and more local events including a slow eating movement event that we'll hopefully blog about in a few days after we've experienced it.
