It's Monday and things are back to normal. We got back into town on Thursday from Folly Beach and needed most of Friday to recover. Z was a wreck those two days. Then I left for the weekend with Craig and Peckner for some much needed down time. Shannon and Z had lots of fun hitting the pool and hanging with friends while I was away. Now I'm back and the whole family is intact once more. We begin a pretty serious week of family responsibilities.
The house needs some major love. Amazing how the home can get neglected when you are traveling, working and playing. It's also time to get Z back into a routine. It's nice to deviate from the path and have the child adjust to new settings and schedules. But ultimately, things run smoother when a routine is in place. I think we've hit a nice time slot for her nap and bed time and we want to make sure that endures throughout her childhood. Z has improved as a sleeper since she was an infant. Now we just have to help continue to transition her to full time people food. She is still hung up on wanting certain things to eat like her baby food and the nurse from mommy. Now we are proud that Z has made it to nearly 19 months of breast feeding and don't want to force her away from it. We've managed to curtail the feedings from what used to be an on demand schedule which could be as many as 10-12 small feedings a day when she was really small to just two right now. Pretty soon we will go to one feeding a day and then it will disappear.
It was a busy Monday though as we had an opportunity to baby sit Gabe and Julianna, the Petrianai family's beautiful children. We took them and Z to the Botanical Gardens for a hike. As you can see, there were lots of kids and lots of adventures to be had.
