Snowy Day

We started the day excited to get out in the roughly 6 inches that fell over the course of the night. The Seijezzali family bundled up and embarked on a jaunt through the neighborhood to the elusive hills of West Asheville Park. Zahra was not happy to be in an orange sled I was dragging through the powder. She was cold and a bit confused. After slogging through the snow, we arrived to meet the Floriani crew for some high speed sledding. Z went down with me for one awesome run, but she got blasted by the snow. Z was done. And she was not happy either. Fortunately, we have friends who live nearby. Virginia and David saved us by letting us into their cozy warm home to let Z warm up and get her bearings. After Z felt better, we left for lunch with the Floriani's. Z fell asleep during the walk so I got to carry her all the way to the new deli that just opened in Westville. After a delicious lunch and some good hanging out, we made our way home with the Floriani's to take in Star Wars V. Gabe had never seen it and had recently seen episode IV. For a third grader, these are amazing times. Z got to see her first flick! She was attuned to the changes of feel through the music. She would go "Oh oh" anytime the score became malevolent. She enjoyed the explosions of the Battle on Hoth as evidenced by her hooting and mimicking of the war sounds. She really didn't watch the whole thing which is to be expected from a two year old who has lots of other things to do but she did enjoy the parts she saw.

All in all, we ended up with eight inches of snow. I have ended up with more treasures from a day filled with them.
