It's official- Zahra is independently walking. She no longer needs any help getting around. This major milestone occurred this past Saturday when, upon returning from a friend's birthday party, Zahra decided she was going to walk without help. It was hilarious. She just started doing laps around the kitchen while Shannon and I (and our babysitter for the night) watched with amazement. She has been cruising for months and walking with assistance even longer but true to form, Z was not going to take that plunge without absolutely being certain she could do it without failing. She rarely falls while she walks and is still cautious.
I will post several videos of Z before I head out of town. I am leaving for Washington DC Wednesday morning with my students for our annual trip. Shan, Z and Grandma Lanie will be hanging back.
