Sick Mommy, Overflowing Rivers and Loud Baby

Times are slightly troubled here in the Seijezzali world. Shannon seems to be sick. Whatever gunk made me feel a little uncomfortable last week has gotten a hold on Shannon. And when mommy feels bad, Z usually feels bad, too. She had a rough morning with Mom. I had a teacher work day so I was able to get out for lunch. We met our friend Mark who was having a birthday at Asiana. Z had been giving Shannon a hard time and at the restaurant, she was a little bit uncomfortable. On the ride home, I decided it would be best to take Z back to work and let Shan sleep. She had a wonderful time at work with everyone getting to spend some time with her. Z played and scooched and had fun the whole time. When we arrived back home three hours later, Shannon was still in bed. Now we have the baby sound asleep after some more screaming and all is calm again.

Zahra has been showing some increased awareness with her favorite toys. She has figured out how to get my cell phone to play through it's ringtones. It's uncanny how she can find her way there. If it had happened once or twice I'd label it under just pushing enough buttons to get there, but she seems to go there every time. And it's not easy to get there! She also knows how to hold her books right side up. She turned her book over after I mentioned it was upside down. She corrected herself any time this happened. And how this little girl puts together he babble sentences! She is really talking up a storm.

Hopefully everything will be fine. Of course we've had more rain here lately and the rivers are screaming to flood. Already the park near our house is completely underwater. Tonight we expect more rain and possibly snow. Let's see if we can stay afloat.
