Let's Catch Up

I wake up this morning and it's already Saturday!  Let's fill you in on the happenings this past week...

Baby Z is doing well.  She has slept wonderfully for the past two nights.  Not a single peep!  She is growing well and continues to eat and be adorable.  She did have a rough spell yesterday though.  Shannon told me she screamed all day on Friday.  When I arrived from work at 4 P.M. she continued to scream until I left the house at around 5:15 P.M.  Everyone was worried.  We referenced our books, scoured the internet and called some friends.  In the end, it just turned out to be that burning desire that all of us have at some point; the need to have a major poop.  And it was major.  She ended up going to the number two five times in one day!  Not even her old man can claim to that one!  After that series of explosions, she was the happiest baby on the block once more.  Whew!

Shannon has been doing well.  She is tired and still experiences some soreness from breast feeding but overall, she is in great spirits.  Her and I did have a silly argument (or what passes for one between us) about remodeling the whole house!  In the end, Shannon has focused her bountiful energies on redoing the living room, master bedroom and office.  I was upset because I felt she should be resting and taking it easy while she is feeding and caring for the baby.  I didn't want her moving around couches and lifting things.  I was also concerned about the financial burden this task would entail.  I didn't know until later that the impetus for all of this remodeling was grandma, who has been staying with us.  (Disclaimer- Elaine, I am in no way upset with you at all, in fact, I am happy now seeing the end result of this idea come to it's glorious conclusion so thank you for everything!  But I'm not leaving you two alone anymore!).  So now we have an even better looking house because my wife and mother in law made a few moves here and there and bought a few items to help enhance our living space.

As for Grandma Elaine, she has been wonderful to have around the home.  She has made delectable meals, has given Shannon major baby relief while I'm at work, and has been pleasant company for our family.  I'm even considering bringing my mother in for some more time!  Sadly, she leaves today.

So what awaits the Seijezali clan this weekend?  We have a few outings this weekend at friends' homes and lots of cleaning up from the remodel.  I am setting up our HD antenna outside and taking it easy with Z since I have a short week coming up with the holiday on hand.  We are all anxiously awaiting Tuesday's inauguration and the end of a horrible presidential "reign".  But what we really want to do most is look at our baby Z and watch her grow right before our eyes.
