Where did this day go? It felt like it just zoomed by. Baby time is almost as bad as technical time. You know, you sit in front of your computer to do some tasks and all of a sudden three hours have gone by and you haven't done much but surf around, read some articles about odd things and see the latest YouTube videos.
Well, baby time is a phenomena I am still getting used to. There was once a time when I could roll out of bed, make some food and get so many things done all before noon and then have the whole day to think of fun things to do. Those days are a distant memory. It takes so much time to do things with a baby around. For one thing, you have to do everything for baby first. Diaper time takes precedence over anything else and if you're carrying her, forget about it. You end up just walking around with her keeping her calm. Our girl has a knack for waking up just as you think she's gone down.
Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I love spending time with Z. We read, talk, stare at each other, bounce around, etc. It's just that all of the things I used to enjoy doing are somewhat compromised. I can't just go out and be gone for three or four hours doing stuff out of the blue because Shannon and Z need me. I know this will eventually run its course.
Even just typing this post takes longer. Shan walked in and asked me to hold Z while she got ready for bed. Ever type with a baby on your lap? Not as easy, though I am getting better. I know I must enjoy these moments though because soon, she will be walking and talking and really demanding some time from Daddy. Don't worry Z, I'll be there for you!
