It's incredible how a little 9 pound person can make so much noise. I got home today and heard our little girl wailing like a siren. Apparently, she'd had a cranky day. So I help out by taking the little darling and walk around with her, trying to soothe her. No dice. She was in a "mood".
But now I have another weapon. When the swaddling doesn't work and the shushing and yoga ball fail, I take Z for a walk. I use a Moby wrap. It's a great piece of baby wear. It's basically an eight foot long piece of cloth that you cleverly wrap around yourself to create a nice tight baby holder. I then place a jacket around us, since it's still pretty cold up here and off we go. It's like magic. She falls asleep immediately and peace and tranquility reign. Plus Shannon gets a break. We have gone on walks that last about 30-40 minutes. It's a good workout, not so pleasant on my back after it's all said and done but hey, Shan did it for nine months so I can to.
Z is still having a rough night as she is still screaming back there. Hopefully she will calm down later and sleep well after a fussy day. I'm already a little on edge and I've only been home for three hours. Shan is quite the tough woman. I guess all moms are.
